Interpol

We went to the Interpol concert the other night.  You wanna feel old?  Go to a concert at the Pageant sometime.  At least we weren’t the oldest ones there. Some parents came with their kids.  LOL!  The concert was fantastic and so much better than the last one we went to.  I just wish they’d play The Specialist but oh well.  I guess songs released on an EP are less likely to be played plus it’s like 7 minutes long.  Paul Banks actually talked to the crowd a little bit which was a change so it was fun all around.  The opening band Calla was good too, which is a huge surprise since I usually am not big into the opening bands.  Read the rest of this entry »

Nina

July 31, 2007

I’m sitting here listening to Nina Simone. She is in one word – incredible. She is one of the few that can reduce me to tears just listening to her imperfect voice. Beyond her amazing talent in music she was an activist and an ex-pat, spending much of her life in France. It would be too much to make you listen to Strange Fruit. I’m addicted to Sinnerman right now. It’s over 10 minutes long and you don’t want it to end when it finally does. I’ll stick to something upbeat and fantastic, Feeling Good. I love this song and have for years so if you hate it don’t tell me because you’re just wrong. That’s all there is to it.

Enjoy Ms. Simone. I know I do.

(The video is just so you can here the song).
